Chinese medicine clinics will launch nine-day service in Hong Kong in winter

The service will offer half-price discounts to senior participants.

The Hospital Authority (HA) announced that Chinese medicine clinics cum training and research centers in all 18 districts in Hong Kong will launch services on three and nine days in winter.

The service will offer half-price discounts to elderly participants to raise awareness of the benefits of traditional Chinese medicine in preventing diseases.

Huang Jiayi, General Manager (Chinese Medicine) of the Hospital Authority, said that about 30% of the service recipients are elderly people aged 65 or above.

Huang added: “The initiative aims to encourage the elderly to embrace a healthy lifestyle and raise their awareness of disease prevention.”

Tianjiu therapy, including the “Tianjiu” therapy in summer and the “Tianjiu” therapy in winter, is based on the preventive health care principles of traditional Chinese medicine.

These treatments are scheduled according to the traditional Chinese calendar to optimize their therapeutic effects.
