At the same time, medical spending in mainland China and India is expected to grow rapidly.

According to the BMI report, healthcare spending in emerging markets is expected to slow slightly in 2025.

Among them, it is expected that medical expenditure in mainland China and India will continue to grow rapidly in 2025, with growth rates of 9.2% and 8.6% respectively.

Emerging markets have made significant investments in the health sector in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in 2023 and 2024, focusing on infrastructure, professional services, personnel and public health.

However, as medical service delivery in these areas returns to normal in 2025, special medical expenditures are expected to decrease.
